Please check out my web site at www.racingforcancer.com. I would like our goal for the season to be $5000 and it will all be donated in the name of Pacemakers Dragway Park. I plan to send the donations in at least twice during the season and once at the end of the season. Anything that YOU can do will help!

I have plenty of ribbons and would love to pass them all out with donations for the cause. We have a running tote board on the website and a list of people who donated to the cause. Please let me know if you don't want your name listed or otherwise it will be on there. Stay tuned for more updates and see you all at the track!

Thank you!

Pacemakers Team:
Please check out the website www.racingforcancer.com. John has updated it with a donators list and a checkered flag ribbon of where we our at towards our goal of raising $5000.00 for the James Cancer Hospital. Alot of people have donated already and the list continues to grow. I want to thank each and everyone of you who has helped out so far and hope that more of you can find a few bucks to help us reach our goal. A special thanks to Bill and Judy Leahy for really jump starting this fund with some of Bill's winnings!! I am planning to have a door prize drawing at the end of the season (with the grand prize given away Halloween weekend) that should help us generate some extra donations.
If you have any questions, e-mail me or see me at the track!! Thanks again for your support!!

Pacemakers racers and fans:
Please check out last night's (Wednesday) Mt. Vernon News sports section or go on their website and read it. Joe Huddleston did a great article on our racing program and how the racers at Pacemaker's are trying to make a difference to find a cure for cancer. Also, for those of you who might get the Newark Advocate, there was a article in last Saturday's sports section. Please take these articles to your boss, co-worker, family and friends and see if they will help us raise the necessary monies to meet our goals and make a difference in someone's life. Thanks to John Malaby the website is growing every week and there is still more to come!! Look for both of these newspaper articles to be on the website real soon. Also, thanks to the growing list of donators (posted on the website) and a special thanks to Brian and Daphne Schopp and Todd and Tammy Hawkins, we are now over $1500 towards our goal of $5000. We still have a long way to go, so I will ask once again for your donations and I want to see everyone's name on the list!! Thanks to everyone for your support and let's keep this fund rolling!! We will make a difference!! See you Saturday and race safe!!

If there is anyway that we can help out please let us know.I lost both grandparents and step grandparent to cancer many years ago.I am sure that research has come along way since then.

I am sure that you will have no problem raising the funds that you have set your goal for.I will look you up or have Tracy catch you at the track some time this weekend and give you a check.I can assure you that it will not be much but every dime counts.

Our very best to you and your family and good luck.

Pacemakers racers:
Just wanted to give you all a quick update.....yesterday, I made the first donation to the James Cancer Hospital (in the name of Pacemakers Dragway) for $2000.00!! What a absolute thrill it was to meet with Mrs. Miller (one of the James administrators) and tell her what the program was all about, what we are trying to do to raise money and tell her about all of the great people (racers and friends) who have dug into their pockets to make my dreams become a reality. It was really neat to listen to her tell me how valuable and important these dollars are for the necessary research and development needed to find more ways to treat this disease. If anyone ever thought that a couple hundred dollars or a couple thousand dollars doesn't make a huge difference, you are all sadly mistaken. We can't stop now......our goal is still $5000.00 for the season and we need to get there and beyond!! There are alot of people out there who need to donate and get their name on the list (see the updated website www.racingforcancer.com and we need the help!! As always, thanks to all of you who have donated and continue to donate and a special thanks to Brian and Daphne for letting this happen at their track. Sounds like we are in for a great weekend of racing, so I will see you all on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!! Thanks again!!

Pacemakers Gang:
Just wanted to let everyone know that Butcher Racing is still alive and kicking. Unfortunately, some things came up late last season that cut our racing short for the year and also our "Racing for Cancer Research" fund, but we are ready to go again in 2006. Just wanted to let you all know that we donated $2500 to the James Cancer Hospital and I am hoping we can match that or surpass it in 2006!! That amount might not seem like alot compared to the hundreds of thousands the big corporations donate, but I guarantee you it will make a difference!! I am going to get with John to update our website (www.racingforcancer.com) and we are going to leave the ribbon intact and keep striving towards that $5000 goal!! I am going to try to pick up where we left off last year and with Brian and Daphne's permission, hope to have the raffle drawing (we promised) over one of the holiday weekends this season. Hope everyone had a great holiday season with their families and look forward to seeing all of you and a few weeks!! Remember, if you have some money burning a hole in your pocket, you can send the money to my house and we can get started on 2006!! Thanks again for all of your support to a very worthwhile cause!!

Pacemakers Gang:
Just wanted everyone to know that Butcher Racing is having a raffle to raise money for the "Racing for Cancer" fund. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or six for $5.00 and can be purchased from me, my wife Kim or Cory either at the track or give me a call at (614) 207-6705 and I will make sure you get some. All proceeds from the raffle will be sent to the James Cancer Hospital at the the Ohio State University. There are five great prizes to win....starting with a 32" LCD flat screen tv, a $100.00 Jeg's gift certificate, a $75.00 Sears/Craftsman gift certificate, a $50.00 WalMart gift certificate and a bucket of JaxWax car care products!! Drawing will be held sometime over Memorial Day weekend and winners will be contacted in person or by phone.
Please look me up at the track and help our cause for raising money to fight this deadly disease!! With only three weeks left before the drawing, you need to get some tickets so you don't miss out!! We thank you in advance for your support and I know that the Pacemaker's family of racers will step up to the plate and make this successful!! Thanks again!!

Jim, if you're going to be at the track this weekend we would like to get some tickets for the drawing. I'm sure I could find a place for that lcd tv. If you're not coming out this weekend let me know.
Thanks,
Allen

Pacemaker's Racers:
Just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you who bought raffle tickets this past weekend. With your generousity and the ticket sales from my work, we are nearing the $1000 mark in sales!! That is absolutely fantastic and you should all be proud of yourselves!!
I will be at the track again Friday night and Saturday and we will plan on having the drawing on Saturday evening sometime during the races. I plan on taking all the tickets up to the tower and putting Neil on the spot to draw out the five+ lucky winners.
So if you need tickets, please track me down. Again, tickets are $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00, 15 for $10.00 and 30 for $20.00. I don't want anyone to miss out on a chance for these neat prizes!! I guarantee you that there will be more than the five prizes passed out on Saturday, you will have to wait and see the other prizes!!
Again, thanks alot and see you all this week!!

Pacemaker's Management, Staff, Racers and Spectators:
I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you again for making the "Racing for Cancer" raffle such a huge success. With the sale of tickets and the donations that I received, the total came to $1839.50. A special thanks to Mike Fouts, Mike Smith, Bill Leahy, Cliff Callis, Mac McKnight and Boss Industries for really digging deep into their pockets to help our for this special cause. I certainly don't want to point out just this group of individuals, as I know everybody dug deep and made this a very special event!!
I would also like to thank Neil for making a ton of announcements to help us sell tickets, my wife Kim for the hundreds of tickets she had to fill out with names and phone numbers, Jeg's for donating the gift certificate and Jack Minor (JaxWax) for donating the bucket of cleaning products. Please make sure to remember these vendors the next time you need speed equipment or some great cleaning supplies and wax for your hot rod!!
In case you missed Neal's announcements, here are the winners.....
32" Flat Screen TV - Carol Lahmon (Amity)
Jeg's $100 Gift Certificate - Mike Smith (Johnstown)
Sear's $75 Gift Certificate - Larry Carrington (Johnstown)

JaxWax Bucket of Car Care Products - Mac McKnight (Gahanna)

Again, thanks to everyone for helping out. This takes our total donation to over $4300.00!! We are not far from the original $5000.00 goal I set out to hit, so stay tuned for more news!! Please visit the website at www.racingforcancer.com!! Have a great rest of the Holiday weekend!!
