I think we need to have more than 14 points races...I think it is the one thing that keeps the racers at the track..This track has to make money or it will not be there...today was not good...realy do not care what a other track schedule is..vote on poll..post what you think ... _________________ Racing not just a hobby,But a way of Life

From what I have heard from other people, everyone is looking at racing at Norwalk or 42 instead of Pacemakers on the off weekends.
It's not just the points... No one is going to race a gambler's format when they can go to Norwalk, Trails, 42, Edgewater, Kilkare, or Tri State and race for a regular payout with round money. We are looking at going to KilKare on the off weekends because we can watch the roundy round cars on Friday night, camp out, and race the next day.
I have no interest in racing points at Trails. |

I know they are trying real hard to do some things diff..I did't like that idea...but I will try some change..I just want the track to do good. and beleve they like to hear what Us racers think and want..We are used to having a reg program every week. and points. ??? _________________ Racing not just a hobby,But a way of Life

I'm not sure that points are as big of factor as a set payout. Like others, I just want to see the track be sucsessful. It was amazing to me that more racers didn't show up on such a nice day. Hopefully our race car will be back together soon. but I still enjoyed the day regardless. Half way into the season only a handful of racers are still "chasing" points, so more points races don't mean much to ducks like myself, but I do like to know what kind of purse is available. just my two cents...(that are worth face value.) |

Trails is a lil different than pdp huh jamie lol....... yeah id like to see about 16 or 17 pts races.......and i agree, if they would just have a reg race, maybe a high payout race on one of the off weekends, i would def go to pdp than somewhere else.......most ppl as they say......run where the money is. _________________ Brett Spring

| It is good for you as a racer to leave once in a while and go race at other tracks and other people with different racing styles. This will help everyone to become better. Don't look at the negative, find the positive. |

Yes it is good to go to other tracks and race I went to trails this weekend to try and get ready for the all mopar race there next weekend. I have not race 1/4 mile in a long time.Needed to make sure the car was ok for Jenni. but went I go home and go out to the track and they are closing up at 6:00 because they had no car count. that realy worrys me...need to look at the negatives..that my home track might not be there..I have spend my whole life there and it means alot to me and my family.. _________________ Racing not just a hobby,But a way of Life

I am a former Quaker City racer. Not by choice of my own, but choice of the management not to reopen this year. I understand your concern with losing a facility. Ask yourself a couple questions: 1) Was car count down because others raced where money was gaurenteed? 2) Did everyone really stay home because of no points? 3) Do racers want points every weekend for a gaurenteed purse?
You have new operators that are testing the waters right now to see which changes can prolong and continue the operations as long as possible. Most tracks survive off of test and tune during the weeks. Look at Dragway 42. They race 5 days a week. It is primarily test and tune uring the week, box/no box 1 day on the weekend and points the other day but they have put some things together to make it happen. It will take a little time. The best thing you can do is to provide constructive and positive feedback. |

[quote="Shawn PThe best thing you can do is to provide constructive and positive feedback.[/quote] Yes that is right and that is why I am saying something..now we know how other think about it..I thought it was points but now we know that may not be the case...if the need is reg class's and set payout .. I sure the all those who run the track are reading this will try to do the right thing. _________________ Racing not just a hobby,But a way of Life

| I think theres enough point days. It allows you to go to other tracks if you want and still stay in Pacemakers. |

It's much like the double-edged sword of Saturday point rainouts being run on Sunday.
It's a great deal if you towed all the way to the track and can trade out the gas expense for just the cost of sleeping overnight in the truck. On the other hand it's bad deal if you made other plans or commitments with the family for that originally scheduled 'off' Sunday.
If PDP management can figure out the 'perfect' solution for everyone, they will be the first to accomplish that feat in the history of motorsports. |
