Chris Hawkins is alive and well and lives up around Fredericktown. He has been to PDP a couple of times this past summer and really has the itch to get back to racing with us. I have been trying to talk him into buying Wayne Wonder's Dart, but haven't gotten it done yet!! _________________ Jim Butcher |

| How about Bob Sunkle, Bob Hoffman, Vicki Hoffman, Phil Cutlup, Opie Levingood, Bruce Mcann, Les Aimes, Dave Maneely, John Micheals, Eldon Fry, Bob Maxwell, Shad Wheeler, Darrel Yates, Arnold Pope, Ray Fletcher, Doug Fletcher, Denny Andrews, Mark Ross, Glenn Stiener, Tim Bucher, Ric Bucher, Art Fenice, Gary Fenice, Mike Nichols and Jimmy Nichols. Then a car that I don't Know the driver's name Instant T ( maybe a result of Mr T's premature....well you know) . I have a few former where are they nows, Louie Schilling, John Buehler, and Jeff Ross. Then some that have passed Kevin Dodrill, Robert Dillon and I think Max Spray but I'm not 100% sure on Max. |

| At this point I have nothing to contribute, but I think this is an awsome idea for a thread. I say make it a sticky. Very interesting |

Shad Wheeler pasted away probably about ten years ago. That man would drive like a mad man. I still remember his first run down pacemakers in the Mustang bodied funny car. What a ride....... _________________ It's only cheating if you get caught !!!!!!! |

| I think the cone by the timers landed on Rt3 on that run. He was the only guy that would be in the grass and not lift. |

Last info I had on Les Ames he lives in the Prospect area and works at the Honda plant in Marysville.....know some people who know him.....sold his drag race stuff several years ago and got into motocross pretty heavy with his son.....told the kid is/was pretty good.....daughter got into softball heavy.....told she was good too!!!!
Doesn't he have some sort of connection to Larry Morgan.....one would think he would be involved with that deal in some sort of way?!?!? |

| I work at the same facility as Mark Ross and was talking to him the other day about him not racing, he said that he just really does not want to race anyore right now and i'm pretty sure he said he has sold everything. I actually remember seeing the ol 6 banger opel of Eldons at the track a few times last year with the new owners trying to work out some bugs from years of sitting. As far as i know Bob Sunkle and his son both still have their stuff, just not running it, his son lives down the street from me and i hear him fire up the ranger every now and again to move it from the garage to the enclosed. Sonny Phillips sold pretty much all of their stuff, i actually have his fuel injection system on my car. |

| Yes Les Ames is Larry's brother in law and we work at Honda together. His boy races professional moto cross and their racing sprint cars. He still wants to come back to drag racing. He comes over to my shop once in awhile and helps on our dragsters. Zak drives the sprint car when he isn't racing dirt bikes |
