I had my car out this pass weekend for the first time after new engine not as fast as i wanted but they never are but i know there is more in her. I was planning on shifting at 7500 but when i hit about 6200 it flattens out fast like you put your hand over the carb Then bang second and its like you hit a n20 button. I was thinking carb to small but a 850 should be plenty i would think .I have plenty of fuel pressure and pump to feed it, exhaust is big enough cam should be plenty big im kind of scratching my head on this one any thoughts? its a 383 sbc roller motor 13.5 comp

if you picked up that much on jets it sounds like you just need some more....try takin those 81s up some more and leave the 88s for now! maybe try 88 all around....

What carb number do you have? That way you can find out the baseline jet size for it.
