| Just wondering what other people's opinion is on why racers today don't name their cars? In appears that in the old days people named thier drag cars. Even today in the truck and tractor pullin sport most vehicles have names. |

All the good names are taken. I think the pros drive the sport and names disappeared when racers stopped being racers and became businessmen. Take the Snake, he is a multimillionaire and won't race on his dime anymore. In the early days car names were used by promoters for match races which was how racers made a living. Now their living is made before they hit the track. A prime example would be a driver from another form of motorsports named Danica, she's 1 for in her pro career and is one of the most heavily backed drivers out there. There is no advertising or match races at our level so names have gone away here also. |

I agree with you bill. Our sport sure has changed over the years. Gone are the days with cars like the chitown hustler and others. Don't know about others but we have a name for all our cars. Our black dragster (formally white) was named "twister" by its original owner. We still call it that today. Our Spitzer car was named "the mongrel". The junior we just sold was named "super girl." Our new car has not been named yet but will be. I think a lot of people still name their cars. Maybe they just don't paint it up as a theme like our twister car and the super girl car were. Just my two cents.
Also a close friend of mine who passed away recently was a late model dirt track racer. He always named his chassis. They were always a girls name but named nonetheless. |

| In my younger days it was fun going to the track and seeing the match ups you guys refer to, like "The Snake" vs. "The Mongoose". I was going to name my car and I even had a logo drawn up but I couldn't get anyone to print it because it was to close to a famous one and I was told it was a registered trade mark so I just went with my name on the side. I'll come up with one someday. Maybe I'll have a name Buddy's car contest. What do you think? |

| If you were in the body repair business we could call it what we called the body guys in vocational school and that was Puddy Buddy. How about BJ Maliboo, some of you will get that. |

we have had names on all of our cars, something neat about having a name on it
"Black Magic"
"Go Hummer"
"Scratcher"
"Scratcher Jr"
"Scratcher Also"
now we need to find names for Ron's Camaro ("Matlock's Case") & Rob's truck (the "Barbarsol Bullet") _________________ Nitro Joe Jackson
