With great regret I pass word that a racing fan and family friend has passed. Joey Friend lost his battle with cancer. I only meet Joey a few times at Pacemakers and about town but worked with his mom and dad, (Darla and Joe Friend at Donley Ford here in Mount Vernon.) A couple years back during one of his many battles Joey made a visit to Pacemakers and of course our racing family made it a great time for him. We arranged for the racing limo to bring him and his family to the track and he was our guest for one of the Racing for a cure Super Street Nights. If I remember correctly Joy Smith gave Joey a thrill ride in her truck. Please keep his family in your prayers. As I know more details I'll post the arrangements.
