I was wondering who all thinks we should run the dragsters and the door cars seperate til there is 2 of each... or even 1 of each and the final is a door car vs dragster?? We can work out the details I just would like to know if anyone else thinks this is a good idea??? _________________ Josh, Kim, Alexa & Joshua Deuce VanHorne

My answer is no, they should not be separated. I have been beat by my share of door cars in my dragster, and I have beat my share of dragsters in my door car.
I don't understand why anyone would think there is an advantage to racing a dragster. Wasn't the points winner in Super Pro a door car? _________________ Kelley Dorst |

Yes Dave Phillips was last years champ and he is a very good driver in a door car... This wasnt my idea a couple guys at the track ask me what I though about it and I thought I would ask on here...
My motivation is it would be nice to judge who Im racing without having to refinance my house to run in the 5's. But hey Im used to being chased, I had the slowest Jr back in the day and I have had the slowest Pro car for a while so why not run 6.90's in S/P... _________________ Josh, Kim, Alexa & Joshua Deuce VanHorne

Your argument might be valid if both cars didnt have to deal with the speed difference.
I run both a doorcar (not real quick) and a dragster, and I see no problems. And I'm not even a good racer.
Pro class has no dragsters... |

| You opened up a can of worms here son. Take your rounds as they come. Nowhere in the country that I know of seperates them. Why would they? |

I don't think it is a good idea, my dad runs a dragster and he doesn't seem to think there is an adavantage. I don't either, come on, whats the difference, you know who you are racing at the starting line. If you are going to seperate them, are you going to seperate types of door cars too? He has raced a door car and he never complained about racing a dragster. Can't we all just be glad we are racing? _________________ ~Allyson~ |

there is no way they should be seperated. the only advantage they have is they can see everything for the most part. just gotta be on your game. and it doesn't matter what class your in at pacemakers it's gonna be tough. what beats ya should only make ya stronger. see ya saturday. got the dart done!! _________________ Brian Spring

| This would be a disadvantage to racers who go to Indy for Div. Finals & anybody who makes it to Pomona for the finals because when I won Indy I raced five out of eight rounds against dragsters. Then when I went to Pomona for Nat. Finals there was four out of seven cars that were dragsters you had to race against. So I think it would be to all racers disadvantage to not race dragsters against door cars if anybody plans on being a Nat. CHAMP. It really helps you alot when you race against each other during the race season on your ability to judge your compition in the other lane. So I vote Hell NO. If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. Mac McKnight |

| hahahaha....NO. There might be an advantage to being in the faster car, but that is all up to the driver. I've been in a 5.40 door car and loved it, and it is just about the same as a dragster coming up on a slower car, so the only reason to complain about it is the speed diference. just go to pro class, and you won't have to wory about it |

I say no but im not out there enough for my vote to really count, you actually race the clock, not the car next to you so it shouldnt matter who your up against. I dont even know who is in the other lane most of the time, im to occupied with the starting line and the launch....but doesnt matter to me, do what ever you all feel is right.

I can say from racing in Pro with no delay box, that I'm 3-0 vs dragsters this year. I took out 2 this past weekend at Super Chevy and there was one that I beat that was running Pro class on the first points race at Pacemakers. My thought is, your not racing anyone but yourself, and if you do your job, then no one can touch you, delay box or no. See everyone this weekend weather permitting. _________________ Michael Cochran

I voted NO, but I am a spectator, for now, so my vote should not count.
I dont care if it's car to car or dragster to dragster.
I like watching car to dragster best.
You're racing against yourself anyway.
As far as the points and National Championships, I'll leave that up to you real racers.
